Chambers and Partners 2014 Global Report

Chambers and Partners today published their latest findings in their 2014 Global Report, reaffirming Bowman Gilfillan Africa Group’s (BGAG’s) position as a leading pan-African legal services provider.  Chambers, an independent legal directory, identifies and ranks the most outstanding law firms and lawyers in over 180 jurisdictions throughout the world, holding in-depth interviews with lawyers and clients to collate their findings.

Today’s report announces that 52 lawyers from BGAG have been recognised in a variety of categories by practice while the group has also ranked in Band 1 for Banking & Finance, Capital Markets (Debt & Equity), Competition/Antitrust, Construction, Corporate/Commercial, Corporate/M&A, Employment, General Business Law, IT and Telecommunications, and Projects & Energy.

Chairman, Rob Legh, expressed his delight at the group once again being acknowledged in this prestigious survey, “It is very rewarding to be recognised for our ongoing commitment to offering outstanding legal services to our clients throughout Africa. We are fortunate to attract leading lawyers and, in turn, clients who find value in what we do”.  Client satisfaction is noted in the report with various quotes including, amongst others, that the group’s “performance was extremely strong and that they are very responsive, exceedingly hard-working and proactive in their approach”.

BGAG is a pan-African legal practice with approximately 400 lawyers in offices in Botswana, Kenya, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda and soon Madagascar, and an association with Udo Udoma & Bela-Osagie in Nigeria. The group provides corporate and commercial legal services to corporates, financial institutions and the public sector across Africa.
