Challenges facing education support for military veterans to be addressed urgently

The Department of Military Veterans (DMV)  is facing challenges in providing education support to military veterans and their dependants. The most critical challenge is the shortage of funds .
 
The DMV is engaging with both the South African National Military Veterans Association (SANMVA), and the DMV Advisory Council to find solutions.
 
The Minister of Defence and Military Veterans, Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula is already engaging her colleagues in the Department of Higher Education  and Training , Basic Education and the National Treasury in trying to urgently find answers to the challenges.
 
Acting Director General of the Department, Lt General (Retired ) Derrick Mgwebi, will update the media on the progress from the various consultations during a media briefing to be held as follows:
