CANCELLATION: MEDIA ADVISORY SOUTH AFRICA AND THE ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF MAURITANIA TO SIGN AN AGREEMENT ON ECONOMIC CO-OPERATION

The Minister of Trade and Industry, Dr Rob Davies together with the Islamic Republic of Mauritania Minister of Commerce Industry and Tourism, Mrs Naha Mint Hamdi Ould Mouknass will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Economic Co-operation. Members of the media are invited to attend the ceremony.

The MoU is in line with our broad economic engagement framework which we have adopted for the Continent. The primary aim of this framework is to achieve mutual economic growth and development in a bid to accelerate regional and continental economic integration.

Minister Davies says the MoU will serve as a legal framework and basis of engagement for economic co-operation between the two countries and it will also explore trade and investment opportunities in the energy, mining, transport and communication infrastructure, agro-processing and tourism sector.

The ceremony will be followed by a media briefing at 10:40 with a video link to Imbizo media centre, Parliament.
