The ANCYL in the Northern Cape Province deeply saddened by the passing away of the Chairperson of the ANC Women’s League in the Province, Comrade Grizelda Cjiekella-Lecholo. Comrade Grizelda was an all-rounder and seasoned cadres who came through the ranks of the ANCYL, ANCWL and the ANC. She was a dedicated daughter of the soil who transcended boundaries with compassion, dedication, revolutionary conduct and outmost discipline.

Her tenacious fighting spirit, her unique and distinct revolutionary chants, her commitment to the principle and her ability to subsume herself to the decisions of the organisation characterized her in the caliber of cadres that are rare in the movement.

The saddening news engulfs the ANCYL as it is steadfastly approaching   Gallagher Estate for the 25th National Congress with a view of repositioning the ANCYL, we will always be inspired by her revolutionary conduct and will forever emulate her courage in positioning the ANCYL as a truly vibrant and radical yet disciplined wing of the ANC.

Words cannot express the sympathy we feel at the loss of the Cjiekella and Lecholo family and the political family as a whole. Our prayers and thoughts are with them during this difficult time.
