ANC collusion fails in Witzenberg

22nd March 2024

The DA in the Western Cape notes the failed attempt to table a motion of no confidence and remove the DA Mayor and Speaker of the Witzenberg Municipality earlier this week.

The attempt was orchestrated by the ANC, who colluded to try and remove an effective Mayor and Speaker for their own political gain.

However, as with everything linked to the sinking ANC ship, this attempt failed when the opposition councillors could not reach consensus on who the office bearers should be. The scrambling started as they called for two caucus breaks, but still could not reach consensus. It is, therefore, clear that the ANC and their cronies are only interested in self-gain, and not to serve the people.

The DA will not allow underhanded party-political plotting to destabilise this municipality and affect the well-being of our residents. We remain committed, above all else, to ensure that service delivery continues at a high level for the residents of Witzenberg.

The DA in Witzenberg remains resolute and we will continue our fight to rescue South Africa from the ANC and their lackeys.
