As the new moon was sighted in South Africa, marking the start of the Muslim community’s annual season of prayer and fasting, ActionSA would like to wish the Muslim community a blessed and peaceful Ramadan. 

We wish all Muslims a very spiritually uplifting experience during this fasting period. May we use this period to introspect, reflect, worship, and pray for all hardships and social ills that affect so many around the world. 

All South Africans benefit and can learn from the Muslim community’s generosity during this season which forms part of the rich diversity of this country. May the core principles of Ramadan, emphasizing tolerance, peace, and unity, serve as a source of inspiration for all South Africans to take greater strides in safeguarding the most vulnerable members of our society.

Once again, on behalf of all of us here at ActionSA, may South Africa’s Muslim Community have a blessed and peaceful Ramadan. Ramadan Kareem.
