Acting Executive Major Ngobeni to hand over FETC

The Acting Executive Major for Mahikeng Local Municipality, Cllr Bongani Ngobeni will on behalf of the Deputy Minister of Environmental Affairs, Ms Barbara Thomson, preside over a graduation ceremony of 90 unemployed leaners who competently completed Environmental Practice Learnership Programme on Friday 23 June 2017 at the Mafikeng Hotel School, in the North West.

The 5th FETC graduation ceremony will be led by the Department of Environmental Affairs (DEA) in partnership with the Local Government Sector Education Training Authority (LGSETA) and the North West-based municipalities of Rustenburg, Ratlou, Ngaka Modiri Molema, Mamusa, Mafikeng, Kgetleng Rivier, Ditsobotla, and Bojanala.

The graduation ceremony is aimed at addressing the environmental sector skills shortage at local government level and assists in strengthening the skills pipeline within the environment sector and thereby delivers on its mandate by supporting organisations in the sector.

The programme offers an official SAQA accredited experiential training over a period of 12 months with a minimum of 140 credits.
