ANC: Statement by Mathole Motshekga, ANC Chief Whip, on ANC Parliamentary Caucus (28/02/2013)

ANC Parliamentary Caucus will hold its two-day annual Lekgotla from
Friday to Saturday, 1-2 March 2012, in Parliament – Cape Town. The
Lekgotla will be attended by ANC Members of Parliament deployed in both
Houses of Parliament, including ministers and deputy ministers, chief
whips of provincial legislatures and representatives from Salga and
invited guests.

The Lekgotla will reflect on the progress made in the implementation of
ANC policies and programmes in Parliament in the last financial year,
challenges facing us and emerge with the 2013 Caucus programme of action
informed largely by the resolutions of the 53rd National Conference and
NEC Lekgotla’s programme of action.

The Lekgotla will receive briefing on Conference and NEC Lekgotla
resolutions from Secretary General Gwede Mantashe, input on priorities
of the executive by Deputy President of the Republic Kgalema Motlanthe,
political overview by Chief Whip Mathole Motshekga, and inputs on
Parliament from NA Speaker Max Sisulu and NCOP chairman Mninwa Mahlangu.

The Lekgotla is closed to the media, but a photo opportunity will be
allowed at the start of the first day. A press conference will be held
at the end of the Lekgotla.
