PROCLAMATION IN TERMS OF SECTION 20 (6) OF THE PROMOTION OF NATIONAL UNITY AND RECONCILIATION ACT, 1995 (ACT NO. 34 OF 1995)

Notice is hereby given that amnesty in terms of section 20 (1) of Act No. 34 of 1995 was granted-

(1) on 14 July 1997 to CELINHLANHLA ZENETH MZIMELA (born 1965-09-15) in respect of the murder on 29 February 1992 of Mkholodaka Gumede at Makholokholo Reserve in the District of Mtunzini;

(2) on 16 July 1997 to NKOSINATHI MICHAEL SIYOLO (born 1952-01 -01) in respect of harbouring Aplacadres during the late 1980's and early 1990's;

(3) on 17 July 1997 to GQIBILE PHILEMON MAXAM (born 1961-04-30) in respect of housebreaking on 15 April 1986 on Vlakkeland Farm in the District of Paarl;

(4) on 17 July 1997 to TISANA MADODA STANFORD (born 1967-03-28) in respect of-

(i) the murders of Anne Foster and John Geyser; and

(ii) housebreaking,

on 15 April 1986 on Vlakkeland Farm in the District of Paarl;

(5) on 17 July 1997 to CROSBY XOLANI NDINISA (born 1968-11-05) in respect of-

(i) the murders of Anne Foster and John Geyser; and

(ii) housebreaking, on 15 April 1986 on Vlakkeland Farm in the District of Paarl;

(6) on 30 July 1997 to LEO HENDRIK FRONEMAN (born 1974-06-19) in respect of-

(i) culpable homicide following upon the death of Abraham Labuschagne;

(ii) contravening section 32 (1) (c) of Act No. 75 of 1969 (unlawful possession of explosives); and

(iii) malicious damage to property, on 17 September 1993 in the District of Bronkhorstspruit;

(7) on 30 July 1997 to PIETER JOHANNES HARMSE (bom 1952-02-20) in respect of-

(i) murder of Abraham Labuschagne;

(ii) the attempted murder of Hendrik Johannes Maree;

(iii) contravening section 32 (1) (c) of Act No. 75 of 1989 (unlawful possession of explosives); and

(iv) malicious damage to property,

on 17 September 1993 in the District of Bronkhorstspruit;

(8) on 1 August 1997 to SIPHO WELLINGTON MOTAUNG (born 1964-02-13) in respect of-

(i) the murder of Arnold Lolo Lombo on 31 October 1990 in the District of Pietermaritzburg; and

(ii) escaping from custody on 24 March 1991 in the District of Pietermaritzburg;

(9) on 1 August 1997 to NHLANHLA JOSEPH SIBISI (born 1967-07-13) in respect of-

(i) the murder of Arnold Lolo Lombo on 31 October 1990 in the District of Pietermaritzburg; and

(ii) escaping from custody on 28 March 1991 in the District of Pietermaritzburg;

(10) on 1 August 1997 to JOHANNES MQOQI SITHOLE (born 1952-06-02) in respect of the murder of Arnold Lolo Lombo on 31 October 1990 in the District of Pietermaritzburg;

(11) on 1 August 1997 to BHEKIMPENDLE PHILEMON DLAMINI (born 1952-04-12) in respect of the murder of Arnold Lolo Lombo on 31 October 1990 in the District of Pietermaritzburg;

(12) on 4 August 1997 to DIRK JOHANNES COETZEE (born 1945-04-15) in respect of-

(i) the murder of Griffiths Mxenge;

(ii) robbery; and

(iii) malicious damage to property,

on 19 November 1981 at Umlazi in the District of Durban;

(13) on 4 August 1997 to NTHAVHENI DAVID TSHIKALANGE (born 1955-12-24) in respect of-

(i) the murder of Griffiths Mxenge;

(ii) robbery; and

(iii) malicious damage to property,

on 19 November 1981 at Umlazi in the District of Durban;

(14) on 4 August 1997 to BUTANA ALMOND NOFEMELA (born 1958-07-01) in respect of-

(i) the murder of Griffiths Mxenge;

(ii) robbery; and

(iii) malicious damage to property,

on 19 November 1981 at Umlazi in the District of Durban; and

(15) on 7 August 1997 to MSIZI JETHRO HLOPE ((borne 1972-12-04) in respect of-

(i) the murder of Zazi Khuzwayo on 9 May 1987 in Clermont;

(ii) the murder of Nicholas Mkhize on 15 July 1988 at Clermont; and

(iii) the attempted murders of Bhikilida Johannes Msomi, Delani Sikhakhane and Johannes Luthuli on Good Friday of 1987 at Clermont.
