Who’s Who Legal has once again named Webber Wentzel as the Law Firm of the Year in South Africa. The award was announced at the Who's Who Legal Annual Awards, which were held at the University Club, New York, on Monday night.

It is the fourth consecutive year that Webber Wentzel has won this credible award, and the sixth time in total.

Who’s Who Legal is the strategic research partner of the American Bar Association's Section on International Law. The organisation conducts independent research into the leading firms in 56 jurisdictions and five US states.

Webber Wentzel senior partner David Lancaster said he was delighted with the accolade.

“The award is a testament to our expertise across all sectors of the South African economy. And it’s an endorsement of our long-term strategic plan to meet our clients' needs wherever they do business.”

As opposed to submissions by firms, the awards are adjudicated based on nominations from clients and peers worldwide and identify the firms achieving the most outstanding overall results in their countries.

According to Who's Who Legal, the awards are presented to the firms receiving the most recommendations in its global research. They reflect the breadth and depth of firms’ practices and identify the “market leaders” in the 35 practice areas that they cover.
