Today, Monday 11 February 2019, the Democratic Alliance Premier Candidate in the Northern Cape, Andrew Louw, will introduce a strategy for the first 100 days of a DA-led government in the Sol Plaatje Local Municipality. He will be joined by DA members of Team One South Africa, including Makashule Gana (Basic Services) and Jacques Julius (Immigration).
Over the past years, the failing ANC has mismanaged the municipality to such an extent that municipal infrastructure has crumbled and the finances are in such disarray that basic services cannot be delivered. In fact, the only thing that the ANC is capable of delivering is broken promises and empty words.
The dissatisfaction of residents culminated in widespread protests last year, which led to seven crucial by-elections to be held on Wednesday 13 February 2019. We believe that there is a real chance that there can be a change of power in Sol Plaatje come Thursday and we want to show residents how prepared we are to speed up the delivery of basic services, stop corruption, create safer communities and open access to real jobs.
The details of the event are as follows:
Date: Monday, 11 February 2019
Venue: Praise Church, Santa Shanties, Galeshewe
Time: 10:00
There will be an opportunity for interviews and photographs.
