The South African Agricultural Educators Association (ASAAE) in partnership with the University of South Africa (UNISA), will be hosting its 9th National Conference, from 31 January to 02 February 2019 in Pretoria with the theme Aligning agricultural education with land reform
The conference’s main goal is to create an inclusive and conducive environment for agricultural educators by creating a platform to engage on current challenges ranging from teaching, curriculum, further education, research and labor conditions in the Basic Education Sector. Various speakers are invited every year to tackle agricultural education teachers’ prevailing challenges within the teaching sector.
The conference will be attended by more than 350 teachers of agricultural subjects (Agricultural Sciences, Agricultural Management Practices, Agricultural Technology and Agricultural Studies) who are school based and those that are office based in the education sector. These delegates will be from all 9 provinces of South Africa. Other delegates that will be in attendance are from colleges of Agriculture and Universities that offer agricultural programmes and careers.
The conference will be addressed by various highly respected and experienced speakers from universities, education and allied sectors, NGOs and general agricultural sector of South Africa. The Hon. MEC for Department of Agriculture and Rural Development in Gauteng will be the guest speaker.
