Finance Minister Malusi Gigaba is looking for serious trouble should he not give the assurance that the Government Employees Pension Fund will not be used to bail out ailing state-owned enterprises like the SAA.
As a trade union we can never allow such abuse of hard-earned public servants’ pension money.
As workers we must stand together and fight this line of thinking tooth and nail. We are outraged at the mere consideration of the possibility that workers’ money be looted to make up for shortfalls and losses caused by bad management and corruption.
UASA will use all measures at its disposal to reject any notion or intent by Government to dip into these resources.
