Human Settlements Deputy Minister Zou Kota-Fredericks, Premier Ace Magashule and the MEC for Cooperative Governance, Traditional Affairs and Human Settlements in the Free State, Honourable SM Mlamleli will visit women contractors led housing projects in Welkom.
In line with MinMEC’s resolution, Provinces are required to build 1956 houses in honour of the women’s march to the Union Buildings and allocating 30% of the work to women contractors.
The Free State Department of Cooperative Governance, Traditional Affairs and Human Settlements has appointed three women contractors to build 1956 houses in Welkom, a mining town and Brandford outside Bloemfontein.
NB: Members of the media are requested to convene at the Matjhabeng Local Municipality @ 10:30 am to join the convoy to the site visits in the housing projects before the community address in Thandanani Village.
