In the spin that followed the African National Congress' (ANC's) fractious Polokwane conference, it was all going be happy families within the ruling alliance, of the ANC, the Congress of South African Trade Unions and the South African Communist Party. A few years on, and the reality, it seems, is quite the opposite.
