The World Economic Forum reports that Switzerland tops the overall global competitivenes ranking. The US falls two places to fourth position, overtaken by Sweden (second) and Singapore (third). The Nordic countries continue to be well positioned in the ranking, with Sweden, Finland (seventh) and Denmark (ninth) among the top ten, and with Norway at fourteenth. South Africa places fifty-fourth in the rankings.
