The Poverty Trends in South Africa report will also provide new Gini coefficient measures and detail the number of persons living under the various rebased poverty lines (i.e. upper-bound poverty line, food poverty line, lower-bound food poverty line).

Poverty estimates are essential for monitoring and tracking progress towards achieving the poverty targets outlined in the National Development Plan (NDP) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
