President Jacob Zuma has designated the funeral of Mr Phillip Ata Kgosana as a Special Provincial Official Funeral.
Philip Ata Kgosana, a Pan Africanist Congress of Azania (PAC) stalwart, freedom fighter and former Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality Councillor died on 19 April 2017 after a brief illness.
Mr Kgosana devoted his entire life to the liberation struggle. He served in various leadership roles in the PAC. While studying at the University of Cape Town, he was elected as the Cape Regional Secretary. He led a massive march in Cape Town during the Anti-Pass campaign organised by the PAC.
“Philip Kgosana will be remembered for his humility, dedication to liberation and selfless service to the people,” said Premier Makhura.
