Managing Partner of Baker McKenzie in Johannesburg, Morne van der Merwe says, “Our aim is to be the go-to international firm in the African market, assisting our clients in the complex matters they are facing in Africa. These rankings and the endorsements from our clients affirm that we are succeeding in doing that. In Africa, the combination of our local knowledge and global reach is especially important given the current uncertain deal making and business environment. Our partnership with our clients and ability to understand the challenges they face, is paramount.

Last month, seven lawyers from Baker McKenzie South Africa and 13 of its practice areas were recognised by in the 2018 Chambers Global Guide.
