SACP Gauteng Province is shocked and dismayed by attacks directed against it by comrade Aubrey Tshabalala, Communications Workers Union (CWU) General Secretary in a press statement dated 29th August 2016.
Whilst we do not seek to engage our Alliance partners, especially worker leaders in the media, this venomous and slanderous attack seems to bear great resemblance and to fit neatly into the current and existing scheme of factional gangs and networks in our movement. These are factional schemes and gangs with links to the accumulation regime at State Owned Enterprises (SOE’s).
We are confident that these regrettable attacks will go down in history as unprincipled, unwarranted and simply shocking to say the least.
We will as a matter of extreme urgency arrange a meeting with the CWU in Gauteng Province, hoping that they will perhaps invite the General Secretary.
We will appreciate that we be taken into confidence about the claims and allegations that comrade Aubrey Tshabalala is making, especially about his perceived "petty bourgeois-sounding-fear" of the SACP at workplaces, especially the SABC.
We are confident that this perceived or real "fear" of the SACP at workplaces, which seems to border on the ghosts of the Suppression of Communism Act, will be dealt with in the most comradely manner.
