The South African Communist Party Gauteng Province strongly condemns the blatant and shocking failure by the highly inexperienced and pathetic Democratic Alliance leaders in the City of Tshwane to provide residents with basic services.

It is now almost a week that the City is dismally failing to provide waste removal and cleaning services to the residents of the City. Massive backlogs for cleaning services are fast accumulating in various parts of the City with dire consequences for the people of Tshwane.

The City's continued failure to provide residents with deserved basic services happens whilst the Mayor of the City, Councillor Solly Msimanga continues to enjoy free publicity on billboards costing millions of Rands to the City of Tshwane.

Whilst we do not encourage residents to forcefully remove the Mayor's face from the billboards as anger and frustration spread, we are dismayed by this level of abuse and contempt for the resources and facilities of the City.

We are dismayed that the Mayor continues to popularise himself at the expense of providing quality basic services to the residents of the City.

We call on the Mayor to urgently provide residents with basic services within the next 48 hours. Failure by the Mayor to provide these basic services within the next 48 hours, will leave us with no option but to immediately apply on Monday for a picket to be held Friday next week, 12th May 2017 at his office.

We call on residents to prepare for a militant picket next week if the City fails to provide the most needed basic services to the residents within the next 48 hours.

It is now even clearer that the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) sell-out of the residents of Tshwane to the racist DA is now more severe and devastating to the residents of the City. We are even more convinced that this pathetic right-wing coalition of the enemy camp is fast disintegrating and will never come back in the next local government elections.
