The Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Ms Elizabeth Thabethe, will be leading a delegation of businesspeople that will be participating at the 3rd edition of ‘Tunis Medindustrie’ which will take place in Tunis, Tunisia from 12 to 15 June 2013.
The ‘Tunis Medindustrie’ provides companies with a platform to market goods and services in the following sectors – industrial mechanics, electricity and electronics, metals, mechanics, plastics, automotives and automotive components and built environment. The theme for this year’s show is ’Working for the Future’.
Deputy Minister Thabethe’s programme will commence tomorrow, 11 June 2013, where she will have meetings with the Minister of Industry, H.E. Mr Mehdi Jomaa and the President of Sfax Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr Fourati. Deputy Minister Thabethe will also attend the Opening Ceremony of ‘Tunis Medindustrie’, where the Prime Minister of Tunisia, H.E. Mr Ali Laarayedh will be in attendance.
There are 8 companies that are being funded by the Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) to participate in this exhibition, through its Export Marketing and Investment Assistance Scheme (EMIA). The EMIA scheme aims to develop export markets for South African products and services and to recruit new foreign direct investment into South Africa.
