The Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) has given an opportunity to twenty four companies to exhibit in a National Pavilion that it has set up in partnership with the Department of Mineral Resources (DMR) and the Department of Science and Technology (DST) at the Africa Mining Indaba taking place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), from 3-6 February 2014.

The twenty four companies hail from different parts of the country, and will be provided with a global exposure and an opportunity to build and maintain cross-continental business relations through this National Pavilion. The pavilion will attract national and international investors from across the globe. The exhibition will be held alongside the Mining Indaba Conference on the precinct of the CTICC.

the dti will also host an investment promotion workshop on Wednesday, 5 February 2014 as part of the Indaba, Africa’s biggest mining event.

The Minister of Trade and Industry, Dr Rob Davies says the Mining Indaba has been identified as a strategic forum to promote investment and networking opportunities that will establish and nurture business relations.

“The indaba will further provide participants with a variety of valuable workshops and information sessions relevant to all participants, and serve as a platform to keep abreast with the local industry issues,” says Davies. .

Minister Davies adds that the participation is in line with the dti’s mandate of promoting South African businesses in order to increase foreign direct investment.
