The Portfolio Committee on Labour will tomorrow receive a briefing on contentious pieces of legislations in the sector.
Contentious issues will be addressed, including labour broking, national minimum wage, and classification of essential services.
The Chairperson of the Committee, Ms Lumka Yengeni, said the intention is for Members to understand the challenges of the 4th Parliament.
“It is important for Committee Members to understand clauses that have been amended, and the reasons for the amendments. This will assist Members of the 5th Parliament to continue with the full understanding of these issues and also be in a far better position to do effective oversight and also to deal with those who fail to comply with legislation,” Ms Yengeni said.
The Committee will also receive a briefing on international conventions on essential service
