Right2Know Gauteng invites you to participate in a

RIGHT TO PROTEST WORKSHOP

Thursday 26 May 2016

09h30-15h30

Civicus House, 24 Gwigwi Mrwebi Street, Newtown, Johannesburg

Please RSVP by 25 March to orthaliakunene@gmail.com

We are increasingly seeing that communities face challenges with police
denying them their constitutional right of protest and dissent. Other times
activists are intimidated into agreeing to conditions of protest or methods
of protest that they do not want. We want to use this workshop to share the
knowledge of both our rights and engaging with the authorities.

The right to protest workshop will cover:

  • How to notify police about planned gatherings
  • The Section 4 meeting
  • Steps to take when police deny you the right to protest
  • Issues of the National Key Points Act vs the right to protest
