In November 2013 EY launched its second edition of the Africa by Numbers report. The report is the follow-up to the annual EY Africa Attractiveness survey that analyses international foreign direct investment (FDI) into Africa by surveying over 500 global business leaders about their views on the potential of the African market.

The 2013 Africa Attractiveness Survey shows some progress in terms of investor perceptions since the inaugural survey in 2011. The majority of respondents are positive about the progress made and the outlook for Africa. The report further concludes that Africa has gained ground relative to other global regions. The FDI projects into Sub-Saharan Africa grew at a compound rate of 22.3% between 2007 and 2012.

The Africa by Numbers report continues to highlight the Africa growth story and sharing the best strategies companies can employ in entering the different markets on the continent. It profiles 8 of the fastest growing economies in Africa namely; Cameroon, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Mozambique, Nigeria and South Africa. It analyses the FDI trends, outlook, infrastructure project breakdown and economic sectors attracting the most FDI.
