The Ahmed Kathrada Foundation together with the South African Communist Party will tomorrow, December 8, commemorate the first anniversary of the passing of anti-apartheid struggle stalwart, Laloo 'Isu' Chiba.
Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan as well as a representative of the SACP are expected to be among the speakers. The tribute programme will take place at Westpark Cemetery in Johannesburg.
National Treasury's Deputy Director General Ismail Momoniat, anti-apartheid activist Janet Love and Professor Raymond Suttner will also share their tributes at the event where a memorial stone will be unveiled. This will take place at Westpark Cemetery, near the grave of Ahmed Kathrada, who was Chiba's political mentor.
