PAC still maintain that government must compensate Marikana victims

Pan Africanist Congress of Azania (PAC) is the first to make a call during the aftermath of the unforgivable and unforgettable Marikana Massacre that all victims should be compensated.

PAC submitted in 2012 that the amount of money to be used in the Farlam Commission should also be paid to victims of the massacre.

We have never had confidence with every Commission of Enquiry of both the racist regime and the quasi-democratic era. We used the analogy of the Sharpeville/Langa Massacre Commission as we were directly involved, that commission was just a smokescreen as police were imposed guilt and the real perpetrators get away with murder.

It does not make sense to the PAC that no one accounted for unashamedly killing 34 people. We had sensed that establishing a commission is the tactic to avert possible consequences for fellow politicians.

The world know that Susan Shabangu, Nathi Mthethwa and Cyril Ramaphosa were in a constant communication. E-mails correspondence aren known were instructions were directed to others. We still hold that the we are not content with the commission work.

We strongly demand that the government's relevant department should step in and facilitate the process of compensation as soon as now because hunger cannot be postponed. We are also disappointed with this notorious London Mines (LonMin) for ignoring poor living conditions of the local even after killing people, it would seem other people do not have conscience.

The LonMin company is a British owned entity and does not care about the welfare of our people, they are advancing the London greedy interests. We also have apologetic government which have no interests of its people but to appease the mine moguls while politicians receive brown-envelopes.

The commission initially announced that R75 Million was set aside for the work of the commission and we told them at that time that if they are able to pay that capital for the "useless" commission then they can afford to compensate victims more than that amount. We are requiring that the all main players in the Marikana Massacre compensate this victims and government must take the lead to facilitate the entire process.

It is unlike African people to prioritise money over lives of 34 innocent people. Cyril Ramaphosa's moral navigation is questionable. He was in cahoots with a foreign British company to brutally kill his fellow African brothers who were fighting for a better life through improved wage. This is the man who believes he is fit to be the country's president. Ramaphosa should be taken to International Criminal Court, he is no different to Osama Bin Laden. He have impeded with a birth-right and that is a right to life.
