The Pan Africanist Congress of Azania (PAC) is one of few political parties which supported the progressive lobby group, My Vote Counts, which never backed down. We applaud our courts for their democratic judgement yesterday to make party donations transparent and accessible to the electorates. We therefore welcome the yesterday's judgement delivered by Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng.

We have been worried by the manner in which funders have been hidden from people who are putting us into power, we have always suspected that money obtained through immoral means were helping parties to attract voters whenever elections approached.

Our country is one of the highest ranking in crime, we have been allowing potential criminals to fund politicians in exchange of political protection. It was obvious that by hiding/concealing funders, we are opening doors for mafia state to be established. We have allowed gangsters to be part of mafia state because our lenient constitution allowed us to do that.

We have compromised the standard and capacity of our own intelligence inside the law-enforcement agencies because politicians paying back favours to their criminal friends. We have got a police force which is highly divided and that affect their efficiency. The same intelligence is ran by politicians with a heightened ineptitude when qualified people are being overlooked.

It is not a rocket science to know that business people also supports/fund political parties with expectation of getting business deals from the party once it governs. It is only fair to the entire population/electorate to know how a certain party is funded.

We cannot allow a situation whereby certain political parties are being sponsored by global terrorist groups such as Boko Haram, Alshabaab et al. Our democracy do not need to be funded by foreign democracies because they have impossible demands from us hence we have not returned the land from dispossessor to dispossessed.
