The sentiment of Department of Communications as presented by Faith "Big Mama" Muthambi must stop pleasing her bosses at Luthuli House by throwing and peddling unnecessary attacks and possibly insult at Mr Jimi Matthews.

Neither the SABC nor that Ministry own or control Mr Matthews. The man made a personal decision to leave the organisation and as the PAC we have taken a stand to wish him a great endeavours as he still have a lot to offer this country whether in public or private sphere.

Faith Muthambi should focus on digitalising our SABC and stop concentrating energy on things that matters less to her.

The Freedom of Expression is one guaranteed right in our constitution. Matthews can facebook or tweet as more as he like about anything of his interest as long as it is not defaming a person or organisation. No one will stop another person from using a social media, instead we are encouraging many to use this new way of doing things.

The "Big Mama" seems eager to please his bosses by even paying no attention to the people he is representing. He must remember that SABC does not belong to a political party or a business but primary stakeholders are general public. It is general public which shall be consulted and if there is a need to set up referendum then let it be.

"Big Mama" is in cahoots with his friend Hlaudi. They went to a point of dishonouring Public Protector's recommendations.

The funding model of the SABC should also be reviewed because it sources more capital from the state than in advertising. The manner in which the board is appointed is problematic because it is the same minister who is appointed by the president who obviously comes from a governing party. If this is not reviewed we will /always have political interference especially of party in government as they feel that they are owning this State-Owned-Enterprise.

We would love to thank all those who have been in solidarity with those who were illegally suspended. We are however very concern over the silence of the pseudo largest labour federation of this country because they have some interest in this issue.

ANC's Zizi Kodwa must stop behaving as if his party is owning the SABC. It is too low of him to go to the media and attack Mr Matthews while claiming that the SABC does not have crises, that makes him a spokesperson of the SABC and it leaves us confused because SABC seems to be what it was doing during the regime of the National Party under the policy of Apartheid during colonialism.
