Pan Africanist Congress of Azania (PAC) have closely been following political trends in the North West province. We have noted the appointment of a 70 year-old Job Mokgoro.

It is a fact that the majority of our population is youth, it must also be evident in positions of leadership. We are not undermining Mr Job Mokgoro but we feel that young people are not been taken serious, one is expected to be above 50 years of age to be considered for crucial leadership position.

The growing trend/tradition of Ageism is a serious problem for political parties, trade unions or government agencies, young people are not exposed to positions of leadership simply because they are young. We know that there are many young qualifying people in this country who could have filled that position.

Young people can use their elders of 70 years (pensioners) as advisors, young people can draw guidance and wisdom from their elders. We cannot be led by "semi-ancestors" while we have nation of youth who are prepared to lead their country. We must start to entrust our youth with mammoth leadership responsibility now rather than late.

We are greatly disappointed at the government for imposing a "semi-ancestors" on the people of North West/South Africa. We are continuing to watch people making mockery out of our country.

Mr Job Mokgoro must be at home and we will go to him to consult whenever we need any counsel in running the affairs of this country. We cannot be led by people who are very close to "coffins". We must begin to invest in young people who will be able to plough back to the nation for many years, where will Mr Mokgoro be in 30 years? We will have a lost experience which we deliberately took to the grave.
