Creamer Media’s Research Channel Africa was relaunched earlier this week.
Since 2002, the Research Channel Africa – has provided subscribers with immediate online access to Creamer Media’s constantly expanding news and information database, which currently contains over 230 000 items, including news articles, project updates, mine profiles, country profiles and research reports on assorted industry and mining sectors.
The relaunch of the site included a number of benefits, including a new intuitive user interface and upgraded search facility that has been refined to include:
the option to search for key words or phrases which appear in the headline or first paragraph (rather than lower down in the article) of news articles, this assists in increasing the relevancy of search results.
the option to use a series of content filters which will enable the effective browsing by content type, such as browsing through coal-related research reports, projects or news articles.
the option to further refine a search by searching again within a given set of results, such as first searching for 'platinum mining' and then searching within these results for 'Impala Platinum'.
