- In terms of a Ministerial Order issued on 5 June 2015, fees payable for procedures before the Mozambican Competition Authority (Autoridade Reguladora da Concorrência), which is still being established, have been determined.
- Fees payable for merger filings are potentially very high, being 5% of turnover for the year preceding the merger filing, where relevant turnover is determined according to Article 12(3) of the Regulations of the Competition Act.
- Fees payable for requests for exemptions from the application of the Competition Act will be 200,000 MT (approximately US$ 5,200) and for an annual exemption will be 150,000 MT (approximately US$ 4,000).
- Fees payable for legal opinions will be 40,000 MT (approximately US$ 1,000).
The relevant competition legislation in Mozambique is already in force. The Competition Authority is expected to be established before the end of 2015.
