The Minister of Trade and Industry, Dr Rob Davies and, and Country General Manager for IBM South Africa, Abraham Thomas will launch the multi-million rand IBM Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) Equity Equivalent Investment Programme tomorrow.
The launch is in line with the B-BBEE Codes of Good Practice that require all entities operating in the South African economy to make a contribution towards the objectives of B-BBEE. Minister Davies says the Equity Equivalent Investment Programme will amongst others focus on developing black owned and black women owned businesses with a particular focus on small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and South African youth, within the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) domain.
