POSTPONED: MEC MAILE TO VISIT JOB CREATING PRAWN FARM

As part of Gauteng’s vision and plans to transforming, modernizing and diversifying of the agricultural sector and stimulating economic activity Western Corridor, MEC for Economic Development, Environment and Agriculture Lebogang Maile, will on Wednesday 29 July visit the Biorganics Aquaculture technology prawn farm in Krugersdorp.
The prawn farm is one of the private sector led projects that were announced by the Premier in the State of the Province Address (2015). The project is earmarked to contribute to the creation of 6 500 jobs in the West Rand over three years.
“The Western Corridor, which is undergoing economic strain, has been earmarked for economic activities related to agro-processing and aquaculture. Our support for this project is in linewith Gauteng government’s objectives to take full advantage of the opportunities presented byfisheries and aquaculture” said MEC Maile.
Members of the media are invited to join the visit, which is scheduled as follows:
