Gauteng MEC for Roads and Transport, Dr Ismail Vadi, will on Tuesday, 30 January 2018 officially open the upgraded Cedar Road in Fourways, Johannesburg.
The R80 million road project - a Public Private Partnership (PPP) between the Department and the Steyn City Development - involved the widening of Cedar Road into a dual carriageway, construction of new pavement layers, pedestrian walkways and upgrading of the storm-water system.
Cedar road forms part of the provincial road network and acts as an inter-urban collector for surrounding townships.
The road experiences a mix of light and heavy vehicle traffic, primarily related to transportation of building materials from northern outskirts of Johannesburg.
