According to the Presidency, President Mbeki will join foreign affairs minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma who is expected to jet off to the north African country today from Chad where she had been attending the African Union (UN) council of foreign affairs ministers meeting.
‘Issues on the agenda include reports by Nepad Steering Committee chairperson Professor Wiseman Nkuhlu, the implementation of Nepad infrastructure, the review of development effectiveness between Africa and its partners and the African Peer Review Mechanism, including its objectives, standards, criteria and indicators,’ the Presidency explained.
Countries expected to attend the meeting include, Botswana, Mozambique, Algeria, Egypt, Tunisia, Senegal, Mali, Nigeria, Mauritius, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Cameroon, Gabon and the Republic of Congo (DRC). -BuaNews
