Closing arguments in African National Congress (ANC) Youth League president Julius Malema's disciplinary hearing, by the party's main body, has been rescheduled.

"It has been postponed until Saturday, ie by [two] days, for everyone's convenience," disciplinary committee chairperson Derek Hanekom said on Wednesday.

"We will still announce our ruling on all four cases next week," he texted in reply to a question.

Closing arguments were originally scheduled for Thursday.

The ANC has charged Malema with bringing the party into disrepute and sowing division within party ranks.

He recently said the ANCYL would send a team to Botswana to consolidate local opposition parties and help bring about regime change.

Also charged are ANCYL spokesperson Floyd Shivambu, deputy president Ronald Lamola, treasurer general Pule Mabe, secretary general Sindiso Magaqa, and deputy secretary general Kenetswe Mosenogi.
