The Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN), in the company of the Auditor-General Kimi Makwethu, will tomorrow hand over awards to municipalities and entities that have obtained a clean bill of health from the Auditor General in the 2013/14 financial year.
The rationale behind this ceremony is to motivate local government in KZN, to be unceasingly synonymous with clean audit outcomes.
MEC Dube-Ncube and the Auditor-General are expected to address municipalities on the critical subject of irregular expenditure as well as other factors contributing to poor audit outcomes at local government level.
Members of the media are cordially invited to attend.
