The IFP in the KwaZulu Natal Legislature will write to the MEC of
Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Nomusa Dube-Ncube,
questioning what action, if any, she has taken regarding the Mpofana
Municipal Mayor who has been described by Municipal Councillors and
community members as a “total failure”.

"Mpofana residents have been complaining about Mpofana Municipal Mayor,
Ntombi Mpangase-Mchunu, for a while now, but there has been no action from
MEC Dube-Ncube. Complaints have included allegations of laziness
and spending most of her time on social networks instead of focussing on
delivering services to the people," said IFP Spokesperson on Co-operative
Governance and Traditional Affairs, Inkosi Mzamo Buthelezi, MPL.

"I intend raising this issue as a motion in the KZN Legislature and call for
the immediate removal of the Mayor. This weak leadership by MEC Dube-Ncube
yet again shows the hypocrisy of the ruling party. They claim that they want
good governance but do not act in a manner to promote it," continued Inkosi
Buthelezi.

"The IFP exists to serve the people of South Africa with integrity and we
will stop at nothing to ensure that this purpose is achieved,” concluded
Inkosi Buthelezi.
