The Inkatha Freedom Party in KwaZulu-Natal urges all students, especially those in matric to get down to serious studying in order to achieve success in the forthcoming year end examinations.

"The matriculants have no time to relax. They need to burn the midnight oil and put in the hard work if they want to achieve the best possible results. At this part of the year there can be no holiday or time for parties. The grade 12 students have spent over 12 years of their lives in school and now is the time to reap the rewards which will come through hard work and dedication,” said IFP KZN Provincial Spokesperson on Education, Mrs Thembeni Madlopha-Mthethwa, MPL.

“While we urge students to be committed to studying during this crucial period, we appeal to parents not to put too much pressure on them and set very high expectations but to support them.

We want all our learners to do well in the exams and therefore family members must be supportive and give them the space that they will need to focus on their studies.

We appeal to all students to have a study timetable and to stick to it diligently. They need to plan their study schedules and ensure that they devote time to all their subjects, especially ones that they are weak in and leave nothing to chance. Last minute cramming is not the answer as fatigue will produce a negative outcome," concluded Mrs Thembeni Madlopha-Mthethwa.
