The IFP has challenged the KZN Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental
Affairs MEC, Mike Mabuyakhulu to provide an explanation on what progress has
been made in the disciplinary proceedings against the CEO of KwaZulu-Natal's
Ezemvelo Wildlife, Dr Bandile Mkhize and CFO Darius Chitate who were suspended
for being behind salary adjustments that were found to be irregular and not
budgeted for.

"The MEC must respond to this matter because we want to know what's going on.
Anyone found to be guilty must be held accountable for their actions. We don't
want to see this matter being shelved just to protect certain individuals as the
ANC always does," said IFP Spokesperson on Environment, Mr Hassan Motala, MPL.

"We further demand that both Mkhize and Chitate must answer questions on the
restructuring of executive/management salaries at a cost to Ezemvelo of around
R20 million. This is a huge amount of money that cannot go unaccounted for. The
IFP will ask questions and demand answers in this regard," continued Mr Motala.

"The IFP further calls on the Acting CEO Dr David Mabunda to table his plan of
action on how he intends to enhance the reputation of Ezemvelo Wildlife. If
Mkhize and Chitate are found to be guilty they must be fired with immediate
effect and capable individuals must be appointed," concluded Mr Motala.
