The IFP has learned of the Gauteng Health Department’s admission that the law might possibly been flawed during the recent appointments of particular staff at the Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital in Soweto. To which it has been alleged that the EFF members benefitted from this preferential treatment.
“The Inkatha Freedom Party in Gauteng considers these allegations as worrying and worthy of a thorough investigation, and if found to be true it will be a sad day for the country in which we all believe in that all must be given a fair chance to economic opportunities,” said IFP Gauteng Caucus Leader, Bonginkosi Dhlamini.
“The IFP remains opposed to the evils of nepotism and jobs for pals which are so common today in every part of our country. We believe that no county will stand the test of time if it supports the idea of using state entities to serve the interests of a few politically affiliated people. Equally we believe that giving a person a position they do not equate is unlawful,” said Dhlamini.
“The IFP believes that recruitment ought to be done effectively and transparently. Candidates must be appointed on merit with relevant qualifications and necessary skills and experience. Thus we support the Department in conducting an investigation and call for decisive action to be taken should the allegations be found true,” concluded Dhlamini.
