ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa’s silence on Bosasa revelations at the State Capture Inquiry is deafening.
The IFP challenges President Ramaphosa to submit himself before the inquiry and to reveal to the South African people how much he knew, what he knew and how he has played a role in state capture.
He should be the first one to clear his name and that of his party which appears to be on trial before the country.
President Ramaphosa’s about-turn on revelations that his son’s alleged involvement with Bosasa and his campaign contributions received by Bosasa is suspicious and he must submit under oath before the commission his involvement as the first citizen of our country.
If President Ramphosa’s hands were clean, while he was a senior member of the ANC NEC, deputy President of the ANC and the country - sitting comfortably alongside now former President Jacob Zuma he must come clean and reveal what he knows about the project of state capture.
We cannot continue to take South Africa forward with a questionable President at the steer.
It is certainly telling that the ANC would not defend its members who have been implicated in state capture by saying that they have operated in their “individual capacity” yet they are explicitly aligned to the organisation.
South Africa needs answers and the first citizen has a duty to tell us now.
