This analysis of the Constitutional Draft seeks to examine the document from the perspective of what it provides in terms of protection and/or advancement of women’s rights and position in Zimbabwean society. The analysis will address both the process leading up to the compilation of the Constitutional Draft as well as its contents. This analysis will generally consider the participation of women in the consultative stages of the constitutional reform process i.e. the outreach processes; while particular
focus will be on the provisions of the Constitutional Draft in terms of providing and guaranteeing gender equality and the frameworks it creates for the advancement of women’s rights and equal participation in Zimbabwean society.
