The Presidency has noted with concern the report on today's Business Day and the Times Media group online entitled "Cabinet to seek judicial inquiry into banks' moves against the Guptas”. The reports contain some inaccuracies.
The article reported that President Jacob Zuma "unexpectedly" returned to South Africa to attend the Cabinet meeting held on Wednesday, 31 August 2016. The President did not attend the Cabinet meeting as he was in Swaziland attending the 36th Ordinary SADC Summit of Heads of State and Government.
In addition this week's Cabinet meeting was chaired by Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa and not by the Minister in the Presidency responsible for Women, Ms Susan Shabangu as was reported by Business Day and Times Media.
