Gauteng YCLSA: The ANCYL officials is a thinly veiled reflection of their handlers

Gauteng YCLSA: The ANCYL officials is a thinly veiled reflection of their handlers

The Young Communist League of South Africa (YCLSA) in Gauteng is particularly disturbed by the deceptive, misleading and unfounded public gossip that is self-willingly undermining the ANCYL’s judgement on issues they claim they are yet to discuss over the coming days.

In their most recently released statement, the ANCYL officials claim the Minister of Higher Education has not delivered on the provision of Free Education, and to that extent we share a common view insofar as advocating for the speedy implementation of the latter.

However, the YL officials’ approach to the matter seems sinister in that there is no one who does not know all that government departments do not determine their budgets. But secondly, “Free Education” is a broad concept that must be understood within the context of our revolution.

The YL officials have clearly made it their priority to pave way for their masters in further poisoning the environment by raising political matters under the guise of fighting against challenges faced by SA youth, with a view to discredit Cde Blade Nzimande’s leadership capacity and therefore try to eliminate any possible disagreeing voice to their ill-advised role they seek to please their managers with.

If the YL officials are serious about genuine concerns faced by our youth, it would be ideal to march to the Treasury as it determines departmental budgets, not the minister.

A blunt attack on Cde Blade Nzimande such as the one the YL officials attempt to make is self-defeating and not well thought out. He is in this position as deployed by the ANC, abiding by ANC policies. This tirade reflects sheer ignorance on the part of the ANCYL officials as the policies followed are guided by the ANC, therefore, by extension; this is a coveted attack on the ANC itself.

With regards to the NYDA, the claim that they (the newly elected ANCYL leadership) are now ‘here’  should be appreciated as far as adding value to the ideals of commonly working together in resolving the many challenges faced by all youth is concerned, and should not be about thinking this institution belongs to them. The NYDA has for some time had its challenges, and we are confident it is getting its house in order.

The NYDA is an agency established with the mandate of advancing youth development; in the past, it was utilised by a grouping to loot state resources.

The current NYDA leadership has made strides in restoring the dignity of this institution, and to this effect PYA structures should be calling for a bigger budget allocation in realising our common goals for the development of all South African youth, not for some few greedy people who believe being elected into PYA structures is about filling their pockets. These are characteristics typical of those placing patronage before the organisations, hence their exits to opposing parties has not been stressful to their conscience, if any.

As a PYA component, we would like to advise our sister organisation to focus on rebuilding structures and advance the levels of political and ideological training to ensure members don’t just come and go, and come at will without substantial credibility. Let us build the Progressive Youth Alliance and consolidate youth power for economic emancipation.

Away with abo MAVELASHONA!
