Large registrant response sets stage for epic Madiba Remembrance Walk
Gauteng Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation MEC Molebatsi Bopape has thanked the great number of people that have registered for the Nelson Mandela Remembrance Walk, that will be held in Pretoria this Saturday, 13 December 2014 Bopape has encouraged participants to arrive early for the park and ride service at the Union Buildings where patriots will receive Walk packs and then be shuttled to the start of the Walk at Freedom Park. The free shuttle service starts at 6am.
"After months of preparations we're now ready to kick-start the event which we aim to grow into one of the most reflective celebrations of Tata, to walk in the final footsteps of our democracy's founding father, we will all join hands and demonstrate that Mandela's Legacy of unity and peace Lives on through the Nelson Mandela Remembrance Walk," said Bopape.
The route of the Walk, which will start at 7am, commences from Freedom Park and moves via Kgosi Mampuru Correctional services; then Church Square via Lillian Ngoyi Square - ending at the Union Buildings.
