Compared to international norms, farm murders in South Africa can justifiably be viewed as genocide and the United Nations’ Human Rights Commission should now force the ANC government to take urgent steps to put a stop to it.
This is one of the urgent requests that a delegation of the FF Plus will be submitting in two motions to the Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organisation (UNPO) in Brussels, Belgium.
In addition to a submission on farm attacks and farm murders, the FF Plus will also be asking the organisation to take note of the trampling and systematic eradication of Afrikaans in especially the education system, which includes both basic and higher education.
Dr. Pieter Groenewald, chairperson of the FF Plus and Mr. Wouter Wessels, national youth leader will be in Brussels until Friday where they will fully inform the UNPO about the issues.
The FF Plus will be issuing a comprehensive statement regarding the matter on Friday, including the content of the different motions.
This latest actions of the FF Plus follows on the visit of its leader, Dr. Pieter Mulder, to the UN in Geneva at the end of 2014, where the international community had been informed about farm murders, Afrikaans, affirmative action and other abuses against minorities in the country.
In November 2013, the FF Plus in conjunction with the UNPO held an international conference in Parliament in Cape Town where group rights and self-determination, amongst others, had been discussed. Prominent people in academic circles as well as other prominent leaders in the brown and Khoisan communities attended the successful conference.
