The Deputy Minister of Water and Environmental Affairs, Ms. Rejoice Mabudafhasi, will join the community of Newcastle in KwaZulu-Natal on 29 August 2013, to celebrate the town’s receipt of the Greenest Municipality Awards (GMC) for three consecutive years from 2011 to 2013.
2013 is the third year that the Newcastle Local Municipality (NLM) in the Amajuba District has won the award.
The Amajuba District won the sought after award due to the socio-economic differences it is making as a result of its greening initiatives among the local municipalities within the district.
